Seaflooding looks like a promising way to fight climate change, and it might create more life along the way. The idea comes from the Zanclean Megaflood, the flood that turned the Mediterranean into what it is now. Fill a dead depression with seawater and you get more moisture, more rain, more plants and animals, and in the end economic growth.

• Where. Below sea level, high pressure, extremely hot and dry. Think the Dead Sea.
• What you get. Electricity, desalination, more biodiversity, and tourism. It could also lower ocean levels, fight climate change, and help with food scarcity in some regions.
• What's hard. It needs international talks, some of these regions are politically unstable, and it needs ecological impact studies.
• Best example. Egypt's Qattara Depression, which Egypt could flood on its own without depending on anyone else.

Plenty of candidate spots worldwide, several in the United States too.
