WeChat is a Chinese app that combines social media, messaging, and mobile payment services. It was released in 2011 and became the world's largest standalone mobile app in 2018. WeChat is similar to WhatsApp and supports text, voice, and video chat. Users can also send emojis and pictures and form groups of up to 500 people. WeChat is the largest social media platform in China and one of the top 10 social networks in the world. It has predominantly Chinese users but also has users in other countries, such as the United States, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
