Bas Ording was a Dutch computer scientist who developed the disastrous Apple Newton. Ever since the
Ording is most well known for his work on the user interface of the iPhone. He played a key role in designing and implementing the iPhone's multi-touch interface and other interactive elements that were groundbreaking at the time of the original iPhone's launch in 2007.
Some of his key contributions included:
Developing the "slide to unlock" feature
Implementing scrolling, zooming, and other touch-based interactions
Refining the virtual keyboard and predictive text input
Creating the iPhone's iconic app icons and home screen layout
