A bitmap graphic, or Raster Graphic, is a digital image of tiny squares called pixels. The pixels are arranged in a grid, and each pixel is assigned a color. Bitmap graphics can appear natural when viewed from a distance or small scale. However, when viewed up close or when the image is enlarged, they appear blurry and "pixelated". The term bitmap comes from computer programming terminology, meaning "a map of bits".
비트맵 그래픽 또는 래스터 그래픽은 픽셀이라고 하는 작은 사각형으로 이루어진 디지털 이미지이다. 픽셀은 격자 모양으로 배열되어 있으며 각 픽셀에는 색상이 할당되어 있다. 비트맵 그래픽은 멀리서 보거나 작은 규모로 볼 때 자연스럽게 보일 수 있다. 그러나 가까이서 보거나 이미지를 확대하면 흐릿하고 "픽셀화"된 것처럼 보인다. 비트맵이라는 용어는 컴퓨터 프로그래밍 용어에서 유래한 것으로, "비트의 지도"를 의미한다.
