도고상인

Dogos were monopolistic wholesale merchants who emerged in the late Joseon Dynasty. They sought to profit by selling or monopolizing goods and fixing prices. There were two main types of Dogo: Dogo (都庫), which refers to the warehouses where public officials used to buy and store public goods in advance, and Sasang-dogo (私商都賈), which refers to private wholesalers who the government did not authorize.
