Jeff Bezos
Jeff Bezos is an American entrepreneur, media proprietor, and investor. He is the founder, executive chairman, and former president and CEO of Amazon, the world's largest e-commerce and cloud computing company. He also owns The Washington Post and founded the space exploration company Blue Origin.
Bezos was born on January 12, 1964. He was a former Wall Street computer engineer who created Amazon in 1994 to sell books online. After an initial public offering in 1997, Amazon's stock shot up almost 40-fold, sending Bezos's fortune above $12 billion. In 2020, he had a net worth of more than $180 billion.
Bezos was the world's richest person on Forbes' list of the World's Billionaires from 2018 through 2021. He dropped to the second richest on the 2022 billionaires list.
