Google integrated Gemini Omni Flash, a new media generation model, into Google Vids, letting users edit existing video clips (phone footage, camera footage, or AI-generated content) using text prompts.
The update adds personal avatars that replicate a user's face and voice for videos, built from a face and voice capture tied to the user's Google account.
Avatar access is restricted to users 18 or older with English set as their primary language, and every generated video carries an imperceptible SynthID watermark.
Google Vids has more than 7 million monthly users, and the feature is available now to paid Workspace account holders at vids.new.
Editing capabilities include fixing lighting, removing background clutter, swapping backgrounds or product colors, changing camera angles, and revising voiceovers or on-screen text.
