xAI's Imagine Video 1.5 Adds Image and Voice Reference Tools, Native 1080p Output
xAI added image reference, voice reference, text-to-video, and native 1080p output to Imagine Video 1.5, aiming to improve character consistency and scene control.
Text-to-video and 1080p generation are live now on Grok Imagine web, iOS, and Android apps, while image and voice reference are limited to SuperGrok Heavy and SuperGrok Plus users in the US for now.
The model supports up to seven visual references per generation to lock in facial features, product details, or environment elements across shots.
Multi-reference mode lets users swap backgrounds while keeping a character's identity, keep a scene fixed while swapping characters, or change only the action while preserving the visual setup.
Developers can access image reference, text-to-video, and 1080p generation through the grok-imagine-video-1.5 API by passing prompt, reference image URL, duration, aspect ratio, and resolution parameters, with voice reference needing separate integration.
