Problem

Robinson Crusoe is stranded on a deserted island and marks the days on the wall of his hut.

Each day he carves a notch, which we denote by the English letter I. Every 5 days he crosses out the four previous notches, producing a symbol we denote as V.

What record is on the wall of Robinson's hut on day $n$ ?
