ByteDance Releases Seedance 2.5, First AI Video Model to Generate Native 30-Second Clips
ByteDance launched Seedance 2.5 on July 31 for Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro, with API access coming soon via Volcano Engine's Ark platform.
The model generates a full 30-second video natively in a single pass, well beyond the 5 to 15 second limit of most commercial AI video tools, and supports multi-turn extension for longer continuous sequences.
Reference input capacity jumped to 30 images, 10 videos, and 10 audio clips per prompt, up from roughly a dozen references in the prior version.
ByteDance's enterprise Seedance platform had already hit $2 billion in annualized revenue by the June conference, ahead of this public rollout.
The release comes the same day DeepSeek put its V4-Flash API into public beta and follows MiniMax's H3 multimodal model with native 2K video, showing rapid iteration among Chinese AI labs on video length and reference precision.
