Alibaba Rolls Out Wan3.0 Video Model With 30-Second Generation and Document Inputs
Alibaba officially rolled out Wan3.0 on August 24, 2026, after opening a public beta through Alibaba Cloud's Model Studio and Qwen Cloud on August 6.
Wan3.0 generates up to 30 seconds of video in one pass at up to 1080p, twice the duration cited for the prior generation.
The model accepts text, images, audio, video, PowerPoint, PDF, Word, spreadsheet, and web-page inputs, converting business documents and other source material into video.
Alibaba priced a HK$80 billion new-share placement, about $10.2 billion, and said it will direct all net proceeds to full-stack AI capabilities including infrastructure.
Reuters reported beta use of Wan3.0 for short dramas, film production, advertising, tourism promotion, and music videos.
