Alibaba releases Wan3.0 video model with 30-second generation from documents and web pages
Alibaba Wan3.0 generates up to 30-second videos from documents, spreadsheets, slide decks, and web pages, according to Alibaba Cloud's WeChat post.
The 30-second limit doubles the 15-second ceiling of Wan2.7-Video; Alibaba also added prompt-based duration recommendations and a tool to extend a narrative timeline.
Alibaba says Wan3.0 maintains visual continuity across clips and has been used since its August 6 public beta for short dramas, films, advertising, tourism promotion, and music videos.
The release followed Alibaba's HK$80 billion share placement, about $10.2 billion, whose net proceeds the company said will all fund chips, infrastructure, and AI model development and deployment.
Alibaba reported roughly 67.7 billion yuan in quarterly capital expenditure and a 75% year-on-year net-profit decline before the share sale.
