Alibaba launches Wan3.0 video model with 30-second outputs from documents and web pages
Alibaba Cloud released Wan3.0, an AI video model that accepts documents, spreadsheets, slides, and web pages as inputs and generates videos up to 30 seconds long.
Alibaba says Wan3.0's maximum output is twice that of its predecessor; a public beta began on August 6 before the broader Monday release.
Alibaba says users have deployed Wan3.0 for short dramas and films, marketing and advertising, tourism promotion, and music video creation.
The release came one day after Alibaba closed an HK$80 billion ($10.2 billion) Hong Kong share offering, whose net proceeds the company says will fund AI infrastructure.
Alibaba has committed more than 380 billion yuan ($56.5 billion) to AI over three years, while fiscal first-quarter capital expenditure rose 75% year over year to 67.68 billion yuan.
