Alibaba launches Wan3.0 with 30-second video generation from documents and slide decks
Alibaba launched Wan3.0 on August 24, with generation of videos up to 30 seconds, twice Wan2.7-Video's 15-second limit.
Wan3.0 accepts business documents, spreadsheets, slide decks, and live web pages as inputs, rather than only text prompts or images, for use in corporate video workflows.
Alibaba says Wan3.0 adds prompt-based clip-length recommendations and narrative extension, while maintaining visual continuity during longer shots and camera movements.
Public beta access, which began August 6, is available through Alibaba Cloud Model Studio and Qwen Cloud; Alibaba cites advertising, short drama, tourism, and music videos as early uses.
The launch followed Alibaba's HK$80 billion share placement, about $10.2 billion, whose net proceeds the company says will fund chips, infrastructure, and AI model development and deployment.
