Alibaba Cloud launches HappyOyster 1.0, a real-time interactive world model in gray testing
Alibaba Cloud's Bailing platform released HappyOyster 1.0, an open-world model that generates interactive digital worlds instead of one-way text-to-video output, now in phased gray testing with SDKs for Android, iOS, and Web.
The model is trained to predict state transitions (current state and action to next state and action) by learning from natural videos, letting it simulate action feedback while keeping characters, scenes, and audio-visual content consistent over time.
Two modes are offered: World Exploration (Adventure), which supports up to one minute of continuous real-time movement and camera control from text or image input, and Real-Time Directing, which generates over three minutes of 480p or 720p video with pause, rewind, and prompt-based story redirection.
Both modes support exporting generated content as video, and developers get an Open API for world-state management plus a client SDK for real-time communication, rendering, and interaction control.
Alibaba Cloud positions HappyOyster 1.0 for open-world game prototypes, interactive short dramas, virtual companions, and cultural tourism experiences, framing it as part of a shift from content generation to world simulation.
