Luma AI released Ray3 in Dream Machine, describing it as a multimodal video model that can interpret visual and conceptual intent, evaluate generated output, and refine results during generation.
Ray3 generates 10-, 12-, and 16-bit HDR video in ACES2065-1 EXR, a format Luma says is intended for high-end film and advertising production pipelines.
Its Draft Mode lets users explore dozens of concepts at up to 20x faster speed, then polish selected results into 4K HDR video.
Adobe Firefly is the first platform outside Dream Machine to launch Ray3; it is available globally in Firefly Video and Firefly Boards, with a 14-day unlimited-generation promotion for paid Firefly or Creative Cloud Pro customers.
Luma says Ray3 is more than twice the size of Ray2 and has launch collaborations with Dentsu Digital in Japan, plus HUMAIN Create, Monks, Galeria, and Strawberry Frog.
