Caira camera app adds Gemini Omni and Runway Aleph video editing in private beta
- Camera Intelligence is adding Generative Video Editing to its Caira mirrorless-camera app, using Google Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash and Runway Aleph 2.0 to edit footage captured on Caira.
- The launch includes Relight, Reframe, Camera Motion, and Set Extension templates, with conversational natural-language refinement; renders are 720p or 1080p and take 1 to 3 minutes.
- The feature does not generate video from text: each edit starts with captured footage, keeps the original MP4 unchanged, saves a separately named result, and applies Google SynthID watermarking.
- A survey of 111 Caira backers found that 77% considered generative video editing useful; the company says that result shaped its product roadmap.
- The feature enters private beta for existing Caira customers and 50 working filmmakers, then joins the paid Caira Studio software package in autumn 2026 in the US and UK; pricing is not yet announced.
