Luma releases Ray3 video model with self-evaluation claims and 16-bit HDR EXR output
- Luma AI released Ray3 in its Dream Machine platform, saying the video model can reason over visual and conceptual intent, evaluate generated outputs, and refine them during generation.
- Luma says Ray3 is the first video model to generate 10-, 12-, and 16-bit HDR video in the ACES2065-1 EXR format for film and advertising pipelines.
- The new Draft Mode is intended for rapid idea exploration and, according to Luma, generates drafts up to 20x faster before selected results are polished into 4K HDR video.
- Adobe Firefly is the first external Ray3 launch partner: Ray3 is available globally in Firefly's Video module and Firefly Boards, with unlimited generations for 14 days for paid Firefly or Creative Cloud Pro customers.
- Luma says Ray3 is more than twice the size of Ray2 and is launching with agency partners including Dentsu Digital, HUMAIN Create, Monks, Galeria, and Strawberry Frog.
