Dune 3 Confirmed to Film Again in Abu Dhabi's Liwa Desert
- Legendary Entertainment confirmed that the third installment of Denis Villeneuve's Dune franchise will again shoot principal photography in Abu Dhabi, using the Liwa desert to represent Arrakis.
- Filming begins later this year, supported logistically by Creative Media Authority Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, with Image Nation serving as production partner.
- The production will benefit from Abu Dhabi Film Commission's cashback rebate, the same incentive program that has drawn over 180 major film and TV productions to the emirate.
- Prior productions using the rebate include F1 The Movie, Mission: Impossible, Star Wars, Fast and Furious, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Netflix's 6 Underground and War Machine.
- The film continues the story of Paul Atreides, extending the Academy Award-winning franchise from Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures.
