Javier Bardem told Entertainment Tonight that 'Dune 3' is 'going to be a masterpiece' and that director Denis Villeneuve wants to push the story 'farther and farther' than the second film did compared to the first.
Sources say Villeneuve's current edit of 'Dune 3' runs over three hours.
Bardem said the film's ending goes beyond the events of Frank Herbert's novel 'Dune: Messiah,' calling it 'something extraordinary.'
Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke have joined the cast as Leto II and Ghanima, the children of Paul Atreides and Chani, signaling a time jump and material drawn from 'Children of Dune.'
'Dune 3' features an ensemble including Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Bardem, Florence Pugh, Robert Pattinson, and Anya Taylor-Joy, and is set for release on December 18.
