Dune: Awakening opens PS5 and Xbox Head Start for Deluxe and Ultimate owners, PC update adds full single-player mode
- Funcom opened Head Start for Dune: Awakening on PlayStation 5 and Xbox on September 17, 2026 for Deluxe and Ultimate Edition owners, with the full console release on September 22.
- The same day's PC update adds a full single-player mode covering all content, sliders that tune harvesting rates, death penalties, and experience gain, and story content that ends Book One.
- Dune: Awakening launched on PC in June 2025 and reached 189,000 concurrent Steam players, becoming Funcom's fastest-selling game; the Steam version is 50% off until October 8.
- Fifteen months of updates made PvP optional so the whole game can be played PvE, removed taxes and base or vehicle loss from the death penalty, rebuilt the endgame around Atreides and Harkonnen ranks, and added Augmentations and Specializations.
- Funcom timed the console release around Dune: Part Three, which reaches cinemas on December 18.
