Dune: Part Three lands December 18, 2026 as Villeneuve skips his planned break

Dune: Part Three is dated for December 18, 2026, closing out Denis Villeneuve's trilogy after Dune: Part One (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024).
Dune: Part Two crossed $700 million worldwide, and that result pushed Villeneuve to abandon the break he had planned before making Dune: Messiah.
Villeneuve told Deadline he is "in the writing zone right now" on the Messiah script and will go "back behind the camera faster" than he expected.
The March trailer moves the story from Paul Atreides' rise to the fallout of his rule, showing him as an emperor facing political instability and resistance.
Villeneuve has not confirmed a specific production timeline, only that he intends to make Messiah much faster than originally planned.
