'Dune: Part Three' teaser opens on Liwa Desert as Arrakis, with release set for mid-December 2026
- Legendary Entertainment released the official teaser of Dune: Part Three, the closing film of Denis Villeneuve's trilogy, with the opening shot sweeping across Abu Dhabi's Liwa Desert as the planet Arrakis.
- Filming began in July 2025 with Abu Dhabi as a principal location, following earlier Liwa Desert shoots for Dune (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024).
- The film stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach De Bankolé, Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson and Javier Bardem, and character posters for the confirmed cast appeared on official social channels at the same time as the teaser.
- Villeneuve and Brian K. Vaughan wrote the screenplay from Frank Herbert's novel Dune Messiah, and Warner Bros. distributes it worldwide in mid-December 2026.
- The Creative Media Authority Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Film Commission backed the production, with Image Nation Abu Dhabi as production partner, Epic Films as local service provider, and the emirate's cashback rebate, which has drawn over 180 major productions.
