First Dune: Part Three trailer shows a possible Atreides child and Pattinson as villain Scytale
- Warner Bros released the first trailer for Dune: Part Three, the closing film of Denis Villeneuve's trilogy and an adaptation of Frank Herbert's 1969 novel Dune: Messiah.
- The trailer hints that Paul Atreides and Chani have reconciled since Part Two, with Chani asking "If we have a girl, what should we name her?"
- Robert Pattinson plays the platinum-haired new villain Scytale, while Jason Momoa returns as the reincarnated Duncan Idaho and Isaach de Bankolé appears as Fremen leader Farok.
- Villeneuve says the story takes place 17 years after Part Two, calls it a thriller that is action-packed, tense and "more muscular" than the first two films, and says the Paul and Chani relationship remains its heartbeat.
- Chalamet says production ran more than 150 days across eight years; the 2021 Dune made $402m worldwide despite a simultaneous streaming release.
