Dune: Awakening opens PS5 and Xbox head start with full single-player mode, console release September 22
- Funcom opened Head Start for Dune: Awakening on PlayStation 5 and Xbox on September 17 for Deluxe and Ultimate Edition owners, with the official console release set for September 22, when the game also joins Xbox Game Pass.
- The console launch ships with a PC update adding a full single-player mode covering all content and features, plus customization of harvesting rates, death penalties, and experience gain.
- The update delivers the conclusion to Book One of the game's story and a rebuilt endgame where PvP is entirely optional, the Deep Desert has separate PvE and PvP instances, taxes are removed, and bases and vehicles can be saved or recovered.
- Dune: Awakening is 50% off on Steam until October 8, the deepest discount yet, after its June 2025 PC launch peaked at 189,000 concurrent Steam players and became Funcom's fastest-selling game.
- Cross-play arrives only after launch, while Xbox Play Anywhere carries progression across console, Windows PC, ROG Xbox Ally, and cloud, and PS5 and Series X run Performance (60fps) or Quality (30fps) modes at Dynamic 4K.
